Fights that read like a raid

Slams are drawn on the floor before they land. An orange cast bar means kick it now — let the Bone Priest finish and the corpses behind you get back up.

A new hero every run

Draft spells and empowerment cards after every fight. Lean into one school and they start answering each other: a crit lights a free cast, a kill refunds a cooldown, a burning corpse takes the pack with it.

Loot you can see

Gear drops off elites and heaves out of a boss chest on the arena floor. Rarity is not a line in a tooltip: a Rare runs a band of light across the plate, an Epic throws motes, a Legendary burns with your class’ own fire.

Seven classes, three acts

Mage, warlock, paladin, priest, hunter, shaman, warrior — each with talent trees and its own painted armour. Crypts of the restless dead, then the Ashfang warband, then the Rift Host. After that the chapters keep coming.
